Camp Hot Shots would like to say thank
you to our distinguished visitor
and guest speaker Kris Freeman! Kris is the number one cross-country skier in the United States and the reigning national champion! Kris was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes prior to completing in his first Winter Olympics at the age of 19. Since then, Kris has learned to carefully and successfully manage his diabetes with the help of physicians, coaches, family, and friends. He has now competed in the last three Olympics and placed fourth at the 2009 World Championships - the best ever for an American cross-country skier. Thank You Kris for sharing your experiences! The main focus of the Hot Shots Foundation is to train and educate diabetic children and young adults. Each year for the last eight years, a dedicated group of volunteers consisting of Doctors, Nurses, Dieticians, and others, volunteer their time, talents and resources to help sponsor Camp Hot Shots. Camp Hot Shots is a three day camp dedicated to diabetic education and management. The Foundation's Staff mixes fun with education in a balanced learning environment.
